In the last 10 years, Immigration topics have become increasingly mainstream in both media and politics in the United States. As the topic of immigration will continue to protrude America’s political and social agenda, I would like to explore my immigration story by highlighting some of the history and culture of the nation my family and I left behind. Similarly, I would like to hold a group discussion on some of the anti-immigration sentiments in the United States and other industrialized nations, and explore why they are harmful to both immigrants as well as the health of the nation itself.
My name is Megi Celaj and I am a fourth year Biology & Medical Laboratory Science student at Maryville University in St. Louis.
