For our next gathering of Share the Wealth, on Sunday 7 October, Steve Tamari will briefly explain the context for the civil war in Syria and share why sectarianism is a reality but not the only reality. He will try to explain his belief that the future may not be as dim as some might assume. Steve’s hopes for Syria are based largely on two to three years of living there where his closest friends happened to be from the same sect as the current President, his father and the most powerful elements of the intelligence forces and the military.
Join us at 6:00 p.m. for a potluck supper, with Steve to begin sharing at 6:45. We meet at the Center for Survivors of Torture and War Trauma, at 1077 South Newstead Avenue, in Forest Park Southeast (63110).
