Share the Wealth with Cami Kasmerchak: The Good Grief Project

There is a quote from one of my favorite poets, Buddy Wakefield, that I sometimes mis-remember. My version of his words has to do with creating safe passage through our minds, which, in my opinion, is one of the most important things we can learn to do and offer to others. Grief can make that more difficult, turbulent. Sharing grief and how we find a way through makes it a little more bearable. For the past three years I have been interviewing people about their experiences of loss and collaborating with them to form the good grief project. Let us gather to take in the words, photos, and creative contributions from the project and discuss how we can create collective safe passage through the mind for ourselves and others in midst of grief and loss.

Cami is a creative who loves to photograph, write, and collage. She works as a youth therapist and social worker in a community mental health organization. In 2020 she began the good grief project following the death of her last remaining grandparent, and she is ever grateful for those who have shared their grief experiences with her to make this project what it is.
